The Boim's Restaurant is located in Lviv at 6 Shevska Street, on the 1st and -1st floors of the Best Western Plus Market Square Lviv hotel, situated in historic buildings listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage
The rooms of the restaurant on the minus first floor are the so-called 'cellars' or 'wine bars,' which have partially survived to this day since the late 16th century
They are one of the most valuable monuments of Lviv's historical and cultural heritage, associated with a prominent historical figure
The owner of these cellars in the past was Georgius Boim
who served as the mayor of Lviv and secretary to King Stefan Batory at the end of the 16th century.
The name of our restaurant pays tribute to a prominent family.
The Boims, whose representatives for a long time
nurtured the cultural life of Lviv. Some of them were
travelers, among the first Europeans
to visit distant countries in the East and Asia
From their travels, the Boims brought knowledge of creating
various herbal and alcoholic beverages.
The Boims were the first to import kiwi to Europe. Additionally,
rumors spread that they taught the locals of Galicia how to drink tea.
